When Tanis got home they couldn't wait any longer and just had to unwrap the gift.
We discovered the box came from Santa's Workshop way up in the North Pole and inside the gift was a shelf elf as well as a letter from Santa.
In the letter we discovered that our elf's name is Peppermint Holly and Santa sent her because he heard that the Hardy Children hadn't been getting along and behaving very well as of late. He wanted to give our kids a little more time to improve their behavior so he sent Peppermint Holly to spend December with us.
... Nate's fallen in love with Holly and rarely does she leave his sight....
The kids have done pretty good today and the older kids are really mindful of Holly's presence and are doing their best to behave. We'll see how the rest of the month goes.
