Baby Girl, No More

On May 13th, Ailey turned 3!

How in the heck did that happen? I'm still wondering how 3 years went by so dang fast.

I was super excited for Ailey's birthday because I knew she was going to want to make a bear for her, and she would have the most fun. Her big day rolled around and after packing all the kids in the car, we headed for Trax to pick Daddy up.

After picking Daddy up, it was off to the mall we went to the nearest Build A Bear. Ailey was thrilled the moment she walked in though she was a little overwhelmed with all the choices.

Thankfully, she had some of her older siblings helping her out and eventually a 'winner' was chosen.

Then it was time to stuff the thing. Ailey wasn't too keen on pushing the button to help stuff her newest friend, but she knew the drill of putting a heart into it and was all set to go with that.

After her new friend passed the snuggle test, it was off to the baths.

It was then over to Daddy who helped Ailey choose an outfit for her new friend.

All dressed up and ready to go...

Then it was the hard part...parting with "Princess" long enough for Daddy to pay.

Finally, it's time to take Princess home with us!

After leaving the mall, I asked Ailey what she wanted for dinner. She replied "Mac & Cheese". I wanted something a little more 'fancy' for her dinner, so it was decided that we'd go to Chuck A Rama. I always forget that their selection is slight.

Even though the selection wasn't great, they had Mac & Cheese, so Ailey got her birthday dinner wish. At one point during the night, our 'server' came to the table and Tanis mentioned that it was Ailey's birthday. I didn't think they'd do anything about it, but I was wrong.

Our server grabbed a few extra people, got a brownie with ice cream on it and came to the table and sang to Ailey. She was just slightly embarrassed.

That was how we celebrated Ailey's actual BIRTHDAY.

On the 19th, we had her family birthday party. She's been obsessed with 'tupcakes' recently, so we themed her party all around that. We got some sad news that Grandpa H. was actually in the ER and so Eric's parents and brother weren't able to attend the party, but my whole family was able to make it.

We started with Ailey's 2nd year video and then presents had to come next.

...Grandma M. made bubble gum balloons...

...From Grandma & Grandpa M. I don't think ANY of us expected her to be quite THIS thrilled with her gift...

...Aunt Kami & Uncle Mark gave her bubbles and...

...Cootie Bug Game. Ailey gets this out everytime we go to my Mom's. A great gift!...

...The W. Family gave her the story book in her hand and a cute little outfit, but Ailey wasn't quite as excited and just threw the clothes out of the bag...

Cousin T and Cousin M made their own cards for Ailey

...Uncle Corby, Aunt Adri and Cousin C. gave her some money...
(She used the money to buy a Rapunzel Play-Doh Hair Studio thing)

Then came time for cake, ice cream & cookies.

Tanis once again played his clarinet while we sang Happy Birthday!

It was then time for the most important part of any birthday, the blowing out of the candles. Ailey LOVED this part and it was so much fun to watch her.

Ailey had a lot of fun at her 3rd party and was actually more excited to play with her cousins than do much of anything else. We did miss Grandma & Grandpa though and this past Saturday, the 25th, they invited us over to their house to give Ailey their gift.

I don't have pictures of her opening her gift, but here are a few of her playing with her fun toy afterwards. She really loves her new dolly and made sure it was with her all night.
