The Color Code

Posted by with No comments
So, I've done this test a few times before and have pretty much always come up with the same answer. But the last time I did this was about 10 years ago and it is interesting to me that I still come up at a White Personality...If you get some time, try it out... http://www.thecolorcode.com/index.html

And if you want to know more about a white personality here you go:

Congratulations. You are WHITE. WHITES are motivated by PEACE. They seek independence and require kindness. They resist confrontation at all costs. To them, feeling good is more important than being good. They are typically quiet by nature, process things very deeply and objectively with great clarity. Of all the colors, WHITES are the best listeners. They respect people who are direct but recoil from perceived hostility or verbal battle.
WHITES need their "alone time" and refuse to be controlled by others. WHITES want to do things their own way and in their own time. They ask little of others and resent others demanding much of them. WHITES are much stronger than people think, but are not often seen for their strength because they don't easily reveal their feelings. WHITES are even-tempered, diplomatic, and the voice of reason; but can also be indecisive, unexpressive, and silently stubborn. When others interact with you, as a WHITE you respond to them best if they are kind, accepting and supporting of your individuality, and if they look for non-verbal clues to understand your feelings.

MIA

Posted by with No comments
So, I don't know if anyone has noticed it, but I have been MIA for a few weeks...I so wish I could say that it was because this baby decided to come, but alas, still no baby...

Last Monday, the 17th, I started to feel sick. At first I just figured it had to do with baby - I've been a lot "sicker" with this one than any other kid, but by Tuesday morning, I knew I was sick. I wasn't sure what I had, just knew I did NOT feel good. I was so tired, cold and weak and just couldn't do anything!

Eric was such a great husband and father that he worked from home a few days and made sure the kids got to school and everything.

By Wednesday night, I decided we should go to Instacare and make sure everything was okay. I was dry coughing really bad and was having difficulties breathing, so I was a bit worried about the baby.

We get in to see the Doctor and he gives me a flu test. Yeah, I ended up with Influenza B...I am not sure what the difference is between A & B, but whatever. He gave me a prescription for some cough medicine (he couldn't really give me anything else because of the pregnancy) and told me to call my OB the next day.

Well, the next day I still don't really have a voice (yeah, the cough screwed up my vocal cords as well) and can't really talk to anyone, so Eric calls the Dr. for me. The dr. says that the flu shouldn't affect the baby and to rest.

So, that is all I did ALL week and ALL weekend. My older sister came and took the kids on Friday night and kept them until late Saturday night. What a big help that was...Even though I was sick of sleeping, that is all I could do.

Saturday morning Eric and I decided we'd better go do the Easter Bunny thing, since we didn't have anything! I could not really even walk around the store, so we did the easiest thing and bought the premade baskets...Kinda a waste of money, but I wasn't feeling well enough to think things through and decide what the kids would like and whatnot.

Sunday came and the Bishop had wanted us to come in and speak with him. I was kinda frustrated with Eric cause he knew how I was feeling, but said we would be there anyway. This meant I had to get ready somewhat even though I wasn't feeling good.

The kids looked for their baskets (Eric had to hide them this year) and were still pleased with what they got. They didn't get much candy at all, but the toys were enough to keep them happy. They didn't seem bothered by the lack of candy or anything, either.

Eric got the kids in the bath and the boys ready, while I took care of Shaylyn's hair. I tried to curl it, but she wouldn't let me, so she ended up in pigtails...Oh well.

We go to the meeting with the bishop (turns out the bishop was out of town and we actually met with the 1st counselor) and some good news for us - they releases us as Primary teachers!

Eric was going to take me back home, but I figured it was close enough to Sacrament Meeting, I might as well just try and make it through. I did well enough to get through the Sacrament before I decided I really just needed to go back home to bed.

I rested for awhile and then we headed to Eric's parents home for dinner. I finally had an appetite after not having one for a week and was excited for Turkey & Mashed Potatoes...Sadly though, my appetite wasn't as big as I had hoped for and nothing had any taste because somehow my tongue got all torn up as well during my sickness.

I feel bad that I didn't get lots of pictures from Easter and that it wasn't much fun for the kids. I had also planned to dye eggs on Saturday night with my little nephew and mom, but that was not going to happen! This Saturday though, the dying is on! I am also thankful for my Mother - in - Law for taking pics of the kids on Easter. Thanks.

I was hoping I would be done with this whole sickness by Monday, but this week I have just been so tired. It could be from the sickness or the fact that I am up almost all night coughing or maybe it's just tired from being 4 weeks away from D Day! I dunno.

I know that I am FINALLY feeling at least more normal and the sickness seems to be gone.

Wednesday we headed to the dr and found out that I am at a 2, but still pretty thick, so who knows? My kids like to come early, but just how early will this one come, I don't know. I will keep you updated though!

Another Weekend????

Posted by with 1 comment
I am usually very excited when the weekend rolls around...No more homework or having to follow the school's schedule (at least for a few days).

Friday, I decided I better do the big cleaning of the house. It is something I usually do on Fridays, but for the past couple of weeks I have just been too worn out to do so. Anyway, I got everything all cleaned up - even before Tanis & Shaylyn got home, which is saying something.

Then we have to let the dog out...She comes back in a tracks mud all over the nicely mopped floor. Okay, so a big priority on our list is grass because believe it or not, Eric doesn't like Foxy tracking mud into the house either.

It doesn't bother me too bad, but I am still not too happy about it AND I am too worn out to remop the floor anyway, so what good is it to worry about it?

That night my little sister and hubby decide to FINALLY come visit me again. I'm sure her hubby didn't have much fun until Eric got home around 9, but me and my sis always have fun. My kids even enjoy seeing their cousin. (They've only got a total of 2 and one lives in Washington State) Tanis was so cute at one point in the night that he even sat down to read a story to Tyler.

When Eric got home we decided to play Rock Band. It was lots of fun. Although, I've gotta admit I got a little tired of singing after 2 1/2 hours. Besides that, it isn't like a lot of the songs are real easy to sing either...Oh well...It was fun and I am glad we were able to spend time together.

Saturday morning I actually HAD to wake up. The kids had a Primary Activity and the Presidency wanted the teachers to go as well. The thing started at 10. The kids had lots of fun and were very excited that they got to go. As for me, ah, whatever.

Saturday afternoon I decided I should get my Primary lesson together AND the Sharing Time. I really hate when you have to do both. It took me a good 4 hours to get everything completed and then I still had to run to the store for a few things.

I wasn't thrilled that I was going to have to take all the kids to the store with me (Eric had to work) but it was going to be okay because Eric gave me some money (and permission) to buy the newest American Idol game. :D I just had to find the stinking game.

Our first stop was at a Game Stop. That was a joke. They have games for "real gamers" not for people like me. So then we headed to WalMart where I had other items I had to buy. So I find everything I need, EXCEPT for the game. Now, I was getting frustrated - if I didn't find the game at Best Buy I would've drove 30 minutes for nothing. I could've gone to Smith's 15 minutes away for what I needed. Luckily, Best Buy had the game and it made everything okay.

After I got home from the store, I spent another half hour to 45 minutes working on something for my lesson. After that though, it was Idol time! I enjoyed playing for about an hour and then headed to bed.

Sunday morning I woke up around 8:30 and got the kids and I some breakfast. Then I headed downstairs to be with Eric for awhile. I figured around 9, I would start straightening the house and then at 10 get everyone ready for church, as usual. I ask what time it is after a few minutes and Eric tells me that it is 10! I was like there is no way, it was just barely 8:30. He then reminded me it was Daylight Savings...UGGH! So I start rushing to get everyone ready for church on time. And we do end up on time.

After church we headed to Eric's aunt & uncles to celebrate another aunt's birthday. We had a good dinner and some good treats, but Eric was playing a game with his uncle and we didn't leave until 10:30. Normally, that wouldn't be a problem, but the kids had school the next day and I was just wiped out from Saturday. We got home around 11 and I had to deal with a whiny 3 year old who only wanted his mom.

After I FINALLY got Lex settled in bed and actually content - I just crashed! Monday came and it was so hard to get going...I am hoping I can overcome this whole time change soon...As for now though, it is just killing me!

Header Explained...

Posted by with No comments
I just wanted to give a quick explanation of the header this month.
On it is featured 3 people - from Left to Right - My dad, Grandfather and Sister.
March is the month that both my dad and sister were born in, so I wanted to give "recognition" (at a loss for a right word) to them.
My grandfather passed away in March of 1993, so I included him as well. It is a picture of him when he was a young man, but I love it anyway.
So that's it...That is why there are three "strangers" pictures on my blog. As the months move on, you will be sure to see more "strangers". :D
