Fast foward a few weeks and Shirley's brother passed away. Being the oldest child, she is her parents biggest helper - so she had to fly out to Omaha, Nebraska to help with the funeral plans. This put her away on Easter.
Her trip to Omaha took a lot more out of her both physically and emotionally than she planned on and so she just kept forgetting to hire the photographer. I kind of put it out of my mind as well, until I put Jace into his Easter clothes one Sunday a little while ago. He was quickly outgrowing his clothes and so I figured we should do pictures soon. I remembered that my friend, Cindi did pictures and figured it might be easier and quicker to ask Cindi to help us out.
I brought it up to Shirley and she quickly agreed. It was one less thing she had to worry about and she had another trip planned out to Omaha as well. So she left it up to me.
I got a hold of Cindi (it helps that she's my visiting teacher) and we found a date that worked for us. That date was July 8. We were met with beautiful weather and the lighting was wonderful. Here's a look at the pictures I had Cindi edit for us.
I JUST WANT SOMEONE THAT I CAN TALK TO, I WANT YOU JUST THE WAY YOU ARE
THEIR BIRTH MADE YOU THEIR FATHER. YOUR LOVE MADE YOU THEIR DAD
IT WAS THE TINIEST THING I EVER DECIDED TO PUT MY WHOLE LIFE INTO
IT USED TO BE THAT I COULD LOOK AT YOU AND SEE TRACES OF THE BABY YOU ONCE WERE. NOW I LOOK AT YOU AND INSTEAD CATCH GLIMPSES OF THE MAN YOU WILL BECOME.
HAPPY GIRLS ARE THE PRETTIEST
WHILE WE TRY TO TEACH OUR CHILDREN ABOUT LIFE, OUR CHILDREN TEACH US WHAT LIFE IS ABOUT.
LIFE IS TOUGH, SO ARE YOU
PRETTY LITTLE ANGEL EYES
SOMETIMES THE SMALLEST THINGS TAKE UP THE MOST ROOM IN YOUR HEART
We aren't done yet though. There were more pictures I liked, but I couldn't ask Cindi to edit them all - so here's a quick look at the other fun pictures we got.
We had a few little hiccups along the way, but nothing too major. Ailey fell asleep in the car and so she didn't want to cooperate at first, but when she did - oh was she a ham. Nate refused to tuck his shirt in and it was a fight to get him to wear his tie. We chose the tie over a tucked in shirt. Jace was much more cooperative than I ever imagined he would be. At one point Ailey was climbing onto the fence and ended up falling off. She landed right on her face and we were sure it was going to be marked up. Somewhat luckily, her face was unscathed, but her legs didn't fair so well. She skinned both knees and tore a hole through her tights. Daddy cheered her up quickly and we were good to go again.
